Capturing You Festival 2024: Two Days of Creative magic!

Back in late January Liverpool played host to You Festival, a groundbreaking event tailored for the next generation of creative arts students. With two days filled to the brim with workshops, panels, Q&A sessions, mentoring, keynotes, and live entertainment. The Festival is aimed to connect students, SMEs, future hires, and partners, providing them with unparalleled opportunities to learn and network. The festival is produced by LMA, one of the fastest-growing creative arts universities in the UK, co-owned by international icon Robbie Williams. Although Robbie couldn't make it to the festival, the star power was not lacking, thanks to big names like John Bishop and band members from renowned acts such as Bastille, Don Broco, the Courteeners, Travis, and Bloodhound Gang.

The Brief

Our mission at You Festival was nothing short of capturing the heartbeat of creativity and to dive headfirst into the essence of the festival, soaking up every candid moment as the next generation of creative minds immersed into workshops, panels, and an an evening of fairground rides, delectable street food, and captivating performances on the main stage by their fellow classmates. The challenge was to bottle up the electric atmosphere and showcase the students in their element.

Our Approach

Having experience in shooting large-scale events with multifaceted activities, we knew the importance of spreading our time wisely and being ready to move at the drop of a hat. Binky seamlessly weaved through the diverse workshops, panels, and performances, ensuring no moment slipped through the cracks. Meanwhile, Sally, worked in tandem, processing and refining images on the fly – editing the images right there on the spot. This made it possible for our client to receive instant, shareable content, ensuring the You Festival's vibes reverberated across social media platforms.

What we took away

Engaging in the workshops and panels alongside the students provided us with a fresh perspective on the creative industry. This experience left us eager to take on more events like this, armed with the ability to capture and deliver content on the spot, all whilst loving every second of it!

You Festival was more than just an event; it was a celebration of creativity, connection, and the limitless potential of the next generation of artists. With a star-studded lineup, engaging workshops, and a funfair evening, the festival succeeded in providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and make meaningful connections within the industry. As we captured the magic of the You Festival, we couldn't help but be inspired by the energy and passion emanating from every corner of the event.
